Lockdown Day 9?

So, am attempting to find some pastimes. Ruled out baking immediately as can’t afford new wardrobe of larger clothes. Also singing/dancing has been put on the back burner as, well, to be honest, it’s probably just for the best. Tomorrow I shall paint (just the skirting boards – have not lost all grasp of reality yet) but today… poetry.

Ahem…. can you hear me at the back?

There once was a pesky pandemic Corona 19 was it's name From a Pangolin snack or Deep fried fruit bat No one is sure how it came

From a city called Wuhan in China The pesky pandemic it spread With a cough and a sneeze, people spread the disease Then it hopped on a plane, it is said.

New Years Eve all this chaos it started And the year it was twenty nineteen When 41 people from Wuhan came down With a flu that before’d never been seen

In the blink of an eye the flu spread Flying clear high up through the sky To mingle and mix it made everyone sick Leaving thousands of people to die

They closed all the schools, all the places Where people together would meet The people they bought lots of food and loo rolls Then all stayed inside off the street

They watched lots of telly they ate lots of food They stayed home all day and all night For hour upon hour, week upon week ‘Twas such a peculiar fight

No guns, no bombs and no bullets No enemy with eyes filled with hate All it took was one simple lesson Don’t go coughing all over your mate.

You’re welcome 😂😂

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference
